Who Am I?

I am a right-brained thinker seeking to compensate for the deficits in my left-brained thinking and other personal short comings such as a tendency to procrastinate and to lose things. Pleased to meet you. For that reason, I love technology. Not because I really understand how it works (well, I can grasp the big picture), but because I love what it can accomplish. I can organize my home, my kids and my business. I can use it to stay on task and map out how I will accomplish my goals. And I can use it in my creative pursuits such as music, both in listening and creating. I can use it to connect with other people who think odd thoughts like I do… libertarians, homeschoolers, and natural parenting types. I can use it to connect with other people who don’t think like I do and seek common ground or at least strive to understand where they are coming from. Technology scares me, too. I can see the pitfalls of big brother and big business exploiting technology. Children can be exposed to dangerous people and ugly morals and it can be hard for parents to monitor. But I can also see the immense potential for learning, creativity, freedom, entrepreneurship, human progress, and peacefully connecting people from all parts of the world; oh, and organizing my recipes.

I will share my technology and web meanderings on this blog: devices I am using (did you guess from the title of this blog that the iPad is my favorite?), useful apps I’ve discovered, how I’m using those apps at home and in my business, useful websites and not-so-useful websites. I am writing for moms of all kinds (some dads too, I’m sure): busy moms, entrepreneurial moms, working moms (aren’t we all?), homeschooling moms, large family moms, creative moms and freedom loving moms. I welcome your feedback and hope that something here inspires you, challenges you or helps you!
